Ahsan urges govt to take in trust national leaders

LAHORE: Information Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal Friday said the government has no mettle to resolve all problems by putting up ‘One Man Show’, adding therefore, the government needs to take national leaders in confidence over crucial matters.

He said this while talking to media on the book launching ceremony of renowned journalist Afzaal Rehan’’s “Jamhooriyat ya Aamriyat” (Democracy or Dictatorship) held at the Alhamra Hall.

The book launching ceremony was held under the auspices of the Liberal Human Forum. Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan chaired the ceremony.

Ahsan said the democracy in Pakistan is not in jeopardy, as there are forces like independent judiciary and democratic forces in the country which would not allow anyone to ambush on the helms of powers.

The government’s success are based on its performance, adding PML-N has taken oath to save democracy not to give indemnity to the inefficient performance of the government.

Ahsan Iqbal said the NRO is National Robbers Ordinance, which would be given tough resistance, adding Kerry-Lugar Bill was approved only after the green signal from the government and the PML-N has reservations over this Bill.
