Curfew for indefinite period clamped in SWA


WANA: Following the approval from top military and civilian leadership of the military operation against suspected Taliban in South Waziristan Agency (SWA), the curfew for an indefinite period has been imposed to avoid collateral damage while the curfew has become effective from 7am today, Geo news reported.

According to political administration, the curfew will be effective from 7am this morning for an indefinite period.

Besides Wana bazaar, the curfew will also remain imposed in Soshalam, Shochalar, and Shakai areas meanwhile, evacuation of civilians from agency had been started late on Thursday night, sources said.

Also, it was decided during the meeting that the displaced and vacated persons from SWA would be settled in temporarily set up IDPs’ camps, sources added.
