Index crosses 9000 level on bull run


KARACHI: Bull-run boosted prices of leading scrips at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Friday as 100-Index surged by 142.93 points to close at 9,067.17, dealers said.

A dealer said that market was opened on a positive note and after some selling the Index took up-turn till the close.

The turnover volume was at 153.529 million shares as 255 scrips advanced 101 sustained loss while 22 remained unchanged.

The market capitalization was swelled by Rs 40 billion to Rs 2.623 trillion.

Pak PTA was the volume leader with a turnover of 18.122 million shares followed by Jahangir Siddiqui Co 17.355 million shares, Arif Habib Sec 13.205 million shares, PTCL 10.917 million shares and DG Khan Cement 5.986 million shares.

PTCL closed at 17.97, Jahangir Siddiqui 31.08, Arif Habib Sec49.84, OGDC 102.74, Pak PTA 7.46 and DG Khan Cement 28.48.

Wyeth Pak recorded the highest increase of Rs 44.50 to 1295followed by Bata Pak which moved up by 33.90 to 952.82 while Siemens Pak dipped by 53.58 to 1305.46 and Pak Services went down by Rs 5.10 to 125.
