NRO would never harm Zardari: Qaim Ali Shah


KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that abolishing of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) would never harm President Asif Ali Zardari slightly.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference along with Sindh Information Minister, Shazia Marri and Sindh Home Minister, Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza after the meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh Council here at Chief Minister House on Sunday.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah has announced to hold procession in Nashtar Park on 25th November on the occasion of PPP Solidarity day.

Earlier, during the meeting, the participants of the expressed concern on the criticism on President Asif Ali Zardari. Qaim Ali Shah said that criticism on the Leader of PPP and President of Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari is unnecessary and added that Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh Council has expressed its complete confidence on the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari.

Replying to a question Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that resignation of General Secretary PPP Sindh Nafees Ahmad Siddique has been approved while the name for the new General Secretary PPP Sindh Province will be announced today (Monday).

In response to a question regarding NFC, Chief Minister said that meeting of the NFC in Karachi will be held in accordance with the schedule. He said that invitation have been sent to the NWFP representatives in this connection.

He said that Sindh government is not ignorant on sugar crisis. He said that crushing of sugarcane by sugar mills has been started.

While replying to a question regarding scuffle between two PPP groups in Hala the constituency of Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Chief Minister said that the scuffle erupted on holding of procession.

Similarly, he said that non-issues are being made as issues while performance of Sindh government in promotion of education and provision of employment and health facilities are also need to be appreciated.

He further said that more than 1.2 million deserving women are being provided financial assistance under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) while Sindh government will also assist more than 0.5 million deserving women under the income support program, he added.

He said that farmers are being provided with tractors under the tractor schemes. He said that government is also devising special strategy for the promotion of agriculture sector.
