PESHAWAR: The death toll in a powerful explosion that occurred in Peshawar area of Khyber Road on Friday mounted to 11.

A team headed by SSP Investigations is probing the incident as removal of rubbles from the blast site is underway.

Sources said that policeman Tariq succumbed to injuries in CMH Peshawar that brought the toll to 11. Twenty injured were released from the hospital after treatment of minor injuries. Khyber Road has been reopened for traffic whereas Artillery Road is still closed. The schools of Khyber Road and Warsak also reopened and police has registered the case.
