Power outages continue in Balochistan

QUETTA: People Sunday continued to suffer long hours of power load-shedding in Balochistan including Quetta as winter arrives in the province.

The load-shedding persists even in cold weather when the usage of electronic appliances decreases.

QESCO said that total demand of electricity in Balochistan has reached up to 1200 MW, while total supply of 700 MW is available.

To balance the power shortfall, people in Quetta suffer 4 to 6 hours of load-shedding daily, while in other parts of the province power outages last for 12 to 14 hours everyday.

Prolonged power outages are not only troubling people in diurnal matters, but load shedding is also affecting water supply.
