Freedom Writers

Freedom Writers : A film 2007, which made the charge late to touch people from all over the country. It’s called “Freedom Writers“.
Summary of the film is as follows:
Hilary Swank stars in this story for children that is sweeping the inner city that have been raised on drive-by shootings and hard-liners position – and the teacher who gives them the one thing they need most: a voice from there on. Landed in an empty area of the fire on the school torn by violence and racial tension, teacher Erin Gruwell battles an uncaring system in the struggle to make this an issue in the classroom life of students. Now, they will be used to tell their stories, and listen to the stories of others, and a group of supposedly “non-teachable” teenagers discover the power of tolerance, and to restore their shattered lives and change the world.
After three years, and I think that many of my friends who write and see what is happening in our Republic can provide a great sequel.
This novel features of the new U.S. constitutional nationalists who live in America, Barack Obama. Fed up with the clear disregard of the Constitution of his attack on Obama, the Fourth Amendment in recent weeks and hopes to keep track of all Americans with their cell phones, Obama is out of control spending, and Obama’s desire to make more Americans rely on the government, the Internet gives voice to these patriots exposing what The media is not as well. With the desire to fight for the visions of Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, James Madison, George Washington, it takes bandwidth, hoping to inspire Americans to take up the cause of freedom and liberty before it is too late, and that they will not rest until it is right for them through human endowed by their Creator, reclaimed and the Obama administration is shattered.
As you know, it was easier to teach the book of true freedom in our public schools, and make children aware of the importance of their work. Left behind in the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, and the Constitution. I can not think of a larger group of freedom of the book.

Pranab Mukherjee:Signs Of Resolution Over Impasse On Women's BillNEW DELHI INDIA: The standoff over the Women’s Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha ended on Thursday with the government announcing that the proposed legislation would be brought in the House only after consultations with all sections.

The breakthrough came after SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, RJD leader Lalu Prasad and JD(U) president Sharad Yadav, the three strong opponents of the bill, met finance minister Pranab Mukherjee.

Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and DMK leader T R Baalu also attended the meeting.

In meeting, “some sort of assurance was sought on the progress of the Constitution Amendment Bill (Women’s Reservation Bill) before bringing it to the Lok Sabha. Government will complete the process of consultations with all concerned,” Pranab Mukherjee said in a statement in the Lok Sabha after his discussions.

“I think, this assurance would assuage the feelings of all members and the business would be conducted smoothly,” he said, when the House re-assembled after two adjournments on the issue.

The standoff over the bill prevented normal functioning of the Lok Sabha for the last four days as those opposed to it have been disrupting the House.

“I would like to inform members that it has been agreed to conduct smooth business of the House for the remaining period,” Mukherjee said.

“I would request colleagues to help the Chair to conduct normal business,” he said.

The statement by the Leader of the House came at 2pm after two adjournments following uproar over the bill. Normalcy was restored soon after and discussion on General Budget, which had got delayed because of acrimony, was taken up.

Eligibility matter highly critical, needs interpretation: AG

ISLAMABAD: The matter relating the eligibility is highly technical and it should be put to meticulous scrutiny, the Attorney General said during hearing of the case regarding the eligibility of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Geo News reported Tuesday.

Justice Javed Iqbal said this case is one of its kind and the court will have to give a categorical verdict on it.

A three-strong bench headed by Justice Javed Iqbal heard the case.

Justice Javed said in his remarks that a member of assembly winning from two seats, will have to retain the last seat, if he does not resign within 30 days.

Attorney General Anwar Mansoor said in his arguments that if an MPA who contests the next seat as well, the first seat will go from his hand inevitably.

He said when Shahbaz was contesting election from a next seat in Rawalpindi, he should not have taken oath as Chief Minister from Bakkhar seat, adding the matter is quite serious and calls for interpretation.

Justice Sair Ali asked the AG that the Punjab CM resigned from Rawalpindi and continued as CM with Bakkhar seat; what would have ensued, had he resigned from Bakkhar seat.

Responding to this, the AG said the matter is highly technical; however, the Constitution is crystal clear in this regard.

Following the arguments by the AG, Shabaz’s counsel Khawja Haris started with his arguments; after which the court adjourned the case sine die.

Indian High Courts Can Order CBI Probe Without Consultation

India’s apex court and the High Courts can order Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe into criminal cases to protect the fundamental rights of citizens, without consent of the state governments.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the constitutional validity of courts’ powers to order CBI investigation without the prior permission of state governments with a provision that this should be used carefully and cautiously.
A five-judge Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan in a unanimous judgment said such powers have to be exercised cautiously by the apex court and the High Courts.
India’s federal ruling Congress party welcomed the decision saying that it would be beneficial in the public interest. “It is a judgment which in the public interest, in the national interest holds that there would be situation where the state concerned or the person concerned at the state level would so arrange matters that a consent to have the CBI enquiry will not be given. In such cases, the consent cannot act as a veto, or the requirement of consent cannot act as a veto. And therefore the court has held that wherever larger public interest remains the court is not powerless to direct the CBI whether it is high court or Supreme Court. I think it’s largely consistent with the government stand and that stand has been upheld. I think it is judgment to be welcomed in the public interest,” Abhishek Manu Singhvi told reporters outside Supreme Court.
Justices R V Raveendran, D K Jain, P Sathasivam and J M Panchal, who were also a part of the Constitutional Bench, said that such powers have to be used sparingly in exceptional and extraordinary circumstances in cases having national and international ramifications.
The CBI will otherwise be flooded with such directions in routine cases, said the Constitutional Bench, adding that such powers are vested with the apex court and High courts to ensure protection of fundamental rights of citizens under Article 21 of the Constitution.
The judgment was announced on a bunch of petitions filed by the eastern West Bengal state government, who argued that the CBI could carry out a probe only with the prior consent of the concerned government under the provisions of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act.

PM urges US to take steps for Dr Aafia’s release

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday asked the United States to take it into confidence on its Afghan policy and ensure that a military buildup in Afghanistan does not have any “effect” on Balochistan and other areas. Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, talking to a US Congressional delegation led by Johan Tierney at the PM House, also asked the US and ISAF forces to enhance intelligence sharing with Pakistan to solidify the ongoing operation against militancy on the Pak Afghan border.

Gilani asked the United States to take Pakistan into confidence on the new Afghan policy, under review by the US administration.

He said it was crucial to “sanitize” the Pak Afghan border to prevent the flow of weapons, drugs, illicit money and militants.

Gilani said Pakistan considered Afghanistan’s stability vital for its own and was looking forward towards continued cooperation with the new Karzai government.

He said the United States should channelize its economic assistance through a transparent mechanism established by Pakistan.

In this regard, he mentioned the Trust Fund established for Malakand, Higher Education Commission, National Commission for Human Development and Benazir Income Support Programme for the socio economic development, education and reconstruction in the militancy affected areas of Pakistan, that can be used for this purpose.

Underlining the importance of revival of Pakistan’s economy, he said the US should play leading role by providing enhanced market access to Pakistani products as well as encouraging investment in Pakistan’s diverse economic sectors at this critical juncture of history.

On successful operation against terrorists in which Pakistan armed forces, Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary and Police made huge sacrifices, the Prime Minister emphasized that much needed equipment for capacity building should immediately be supplied to Pakistan in order to take the ongoing operation to its logical conclusion.

Prime Minister Gilani reaffirmed the government’s resolve to seek resolution of all the disputes with India through resumption of composite dialogue particularly the festering Kashmir dispute and water issues.

He hoped that the US and international community would play their role to bring lasting peace to South Asia.

The Prime Minister also suggested that US should take steps like release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, extension of Fulbright scholarship programme for Pakistani students beyond 2010 and special allocation of 500 scholarships for the children of martyred and injured in operations against the terrorists in order to create goodwill.

Congressmen John Tierney expressed his deep appreciation of the commitment of Pakistan government against terrorism by acknowledging the fact that these evil forces cannot be defeated without Pakistan’s proactive role.

He lauded the sacrifices of Pakistan armed forces and law enforcement agencies and condoled with their families as well as with the families of innocent citizens who laid their lives in their country’s pursuit to defeat terrorism.

John Tierney and other Congressmen assured the Prime Minister that they, through the US Congress, would fully support provision of assistance to Pakistan in education, health sectors as well as for capacity building of its armed forces and law enforcement agencies.

They appreciated the proposal for extension of Fullbright scholarship programme and provision of scholarship to the children of the effected families and promised to play a role towards this end.

They apprised the Prime Minister that US House of Representative had already passed ROZ Bill alongwith Kerry Lugar legislation and promised to move in coordination with the US Senate to provide much awaited financial support for creating employment and business opportunities in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

Other members of the delegation included George Miller, Peter Welch and Ron Kind. US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson attended the meeting.

Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Minister for Interior Rehman Malik, State Minister for Finance Hina Rabbani Khar, Senator Syeda Sughra Imam and other senior government officials were also present.
