PESHAWAR: NWFP Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain Sunday said that Shuhada Trust will be established with the financial help of philanthropists with an aim to support the victims of terrorism.

Talking to media during his visit to the bomb blast site, the Minister said the fight against terrorism will be carried on till the last breath.

He said the blast victims will be provided the monetary help soon. Recommendation has been made to the Federal Government that financial support should also be provided to the people whose business has been affected by the terrorist activities.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: At least 101 suspected people including Uzbeks and Afghans have been arrested with huge cache of arms recovered from them during a crackdown on the foreigners unlawfully staying in Pakistan, Geo News reported Sunday.

According to Border Military Police, two suspected foreigners were arrested from Rakhigaj area of Dera Ghazi Khan; the arrested Abdus Samad and Ayub bin Yousuf are said to belong to South Africa.

Meantime, Chaman police arrested 27 Uzbek and Afghan nationals by conducting a raid on a passenger bus en route to Quetta.

District Kohat police arrested 42 suspected people including 12 Afghan natives during a search operation in the area.

According to District Police Officer Kohat Dilawar Bangash, 6 Kalashnikovs, 8 rifles, 12 guns, 25 pistols and 2000 bullets have been recovered from the possession of these suspects.

District Rahimyar Khan police apprehended at least 6 Afghan nationals in a raid on the coach heading for Karachi from Sadiqabad; while, 24 suspected people have been arrested from District Khairpur.

WANA: The miscreants ambushed a security check post with rockets in South Waziristan Agency, killing three security personnel and injuring seven others.

The forces retaliated the attack with force, causing heavy casualties of miscreants.

BANNU: At least ten extremists have been killed in the operation of security forces in District Bannu, Geo News reported Thursday.

The District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu Kamran Zeb told Geo News curfew has been relaxed till 2pm.

The security forces continued overnight the operation against the tribes of Janikhel and Bakakhel, killing over ten extremists.

The DPO said the curfew will be relaxed from 8am to 2pm in view of people’s need.

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minster Syed Qaim Ali shah said that at least 15000 affected people of Swat Operation have come into Sindh, sources said Sunday.

Those political parties, who are opposing the arrival of affected people in Sindh, enjoy no political significance, he said.

The CM urged the people to support the military, as the country is hit by terrorism.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Motorcycles would be banned in Dera Ismail Khan, District Police Officer said Sunday.

He said even motorcycle rickshaws would be banned in the district until further orders.

BANNU: Twenty-six suspected persons were arrested during search operation conducted by Bannu police in different areas.

District Police Officer Bannu Iqbal Khan Marwat told Geo News that search operation carried out in Bannu and adjoining areas during which 26 suspected persons were arrested and 7 Kalashnikovs, 12 pistols and dozens of cartridges were recovered from their possession. The suspects are under investigations, he added.

LAHORE: The city traffic police of Lahore has been directed to extend helping hand to city police for anti-terror efforts.

The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Muhammad Pervez Rathor and Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTPO) Lahore Mirza Sakeel Baig, addressing the traffic wardens, have jointly directed that the traffic wardens will checkout suspected vehicles at all sensitive buildings including hotels, police stations, hospitals and schools while they will also have to ensure the quick removal of black papers from all vehicles in provincial capital.

The strategy has been chalked out between city traffic police and district police to uplift this plan.
