KARACHI: The long-hours unannounced and persistent power breakdowns remained operative in many parts across Karachi on Sunday evening, despite eminent slash in demand due to change of weather and holiday, Geo news reported.
According to sources, the business and industrial activates go almost extinct throughout Karachi due to holiday on Sunday despite this fact, KESC continued power loadshedding in most parts of metropolis on Sunday, kept people being suffered from this menace.
Three to four hours long power outages were commonly seen in several areas including Jacob Line, Baloch Coloney, North Nazimabad, Gulistan-e-Johar, Garden, Saddar, New Karachi and others, sources said
KNEP resumed supply of additional 80 megawatt of electricity to KESC as early as Sunday night, however, officials from KESC did not provide people sigh of relief despite that, sources said.

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has called for proper implementation on Family Planning Programs (FPPs), saying it is the need of the hour to control rising population and cutting the formidable birth ratio in Pakistan in order to properly avail the available resources, Geo news reported on Sunday night.
This CM Sindh said during meeting with provincial minister for population welfare Syed Ali Murad Shah held here at CM house.
According to sources, Qiam Ali Shah, on the occasion, issued minister directives for strictly implementation on Population Welfare Programs (PWPs) including FPPs in order to control the menace of population in province.
Directing minister for making the population welfare centers operational and result-oriented in Sindh, CM said the public must be dispensed with literature on population control programs, sources said.

ISLAMABAD: The schools in Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad have reopened on Monday after being closed down last week over security concerns.
The government had directed security agencies and concerned departments to take steps to ensure foolproof security at educational institutions across the country.
The students and parents have expressed satisfaction over reopening of the schools. However, educational institutions in Balochistan remained closed for three more days after murder of Balocistan’s education minister yesterday whereas NWFP institutions will be closed till November 1.

HANGU: Militants attacked on security check-posts in Hangu meanwhile, 14 persons were killed and many others wounded in security forces’ retaliatory firing, Geo news reported Monday.
According to sources, militants launched attack on security forces’ check-posts located in Tora Dari area late Sunday night, which security forces retaliated killing at least 14 militants and injuring many others, meanwhile in process, one security men martyred and four other sustained injuries.
Both side used heavy artillery in skirmish.
Meanwhile, after clashes security forces heavily shelled the suspected hideouts of extremists destroying tow of them.
