PESHAWAR: LPG prices are on the rise in the country every coming day as the winters arrives in NWFP.

The LPG prices have been raised by Rs. 15 per KG in a week. The price hike is a result of increased demand of LPG against the total supply, Bakht Munir, president LGP Association NWFP told Geo News on Tuesday.

He said that LPG was being sold at Rs.75 per KG a month ago, which has mounted to Rs. 90/KG presently.

LPG association president said that transport fares will increase, whereas, further hike in LPG price is anticipated in coming weeks.

KARACHI: People are still facing the music while bidding to buy sugar despite paying off additional 4.5 billion rupees during last month, Geo news reported on Monday.

According to details, SC, on October 3, 2009, directed government to ensure selling of sugar at Rs. 40/kg all across country but it was not even available at rupees 50/kg in markets.

Moreover, sugar was and still being sold up to Rs.100/kg in some parts of country multiplying problems for public, sources said, adding, both government and judiciary have badly failed in ensuring sale of sugar at Rs.40/kg.

KARACHI: The prices of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) have started rising all-across country as the winter season has set-in, Geo news reported on Monday.

According to notification released from LPG’s dealers associations, the LPG generation companies have added Rs.7760 to per tonne.

It also said that the price of LPG’s 11.8-kg cylinder, usually used for domestic purpose, has seen addition of Rs.92 and Rs.8 have been added to one kilogram gas.

SWAT: People of Swat are to experience a 30-day imposition of section 144, in effect from today.

District Magistrate Swat Atif-ur-Rehman said that section-144 has been imposed in the valley due to security concerns.

The effect of section-144 translates ban on public demonstrations, motor-bike ride, open sale of petroleum products and LPG tanks in the markets.

ISLAMABAD: The Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) producer association has increased LPG prices by Rs 7 per kg due to price hike in Petroleum products.

Chairman All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association, Irfan Khokar said that with the raise of Rs 7 per kg, the commercial price of LPG has become Rs 83 per kg and Rs 25612 per ton, which would be implemented from September 3.

He said OGRA was due to announce the prices but producers and marketing companies raised the prices of LPG two days earlier. There is also a shortage of liquid gas, he added.

With the increase in LPG prices, the price reached to Rs.92 per kg in Murree, Kahsmir and northern areas whereas LPG available at Rs.85 per kg in Islamabad, Rs 75 per kg in Lahore, Rs 77 per kg in Multan and Rs 79 per kg in Peshawar.

KARACHI: The government has imported 2,000 tonnes Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) to meet the demand during month of Ramzan and to maintain prices.

The spokesman of LPG Association of Pakistan said comprehensive strategy has been chalked out for countrywide distribution of LPG. He said in last Ramzan, the price of LPG cylinder for domestic use was Rs.830 whereas the prices have been reduced this year.

Now, LPG cylinder for domestic use is available at the rate of Rs.650, which with nominal increment will be available at Rs. 670 during Ramzan due to increase in demand.
