KARACHI: The train accident, occurred near Jumma Goath in Landhi locality, was caused by negligence of driver, preliminary report into accident said.
According to DS Railway Aftab Memon, the driver of passenger train Allama Iqbal Express was very late to respond to red signal, resulting in head-on collision with pre-standing goods’ train on track.

LAHORE: The shortfall of electricity has been dropped to 2,000 Megawatt (MW) after decline in electricity demand. Six hours load shedding in cities and 8 to 10 hours in villages is underway to overcome the shortfall.
According to PEPCO sources, the production of electricity is 9, 500 whereas demand reaches to nearly 11,500 MW. Therefore, load shedding is continued in domestic and industrial sectors. The industrialists expressed concern over load shedding and demanded to exempt export industries from load shedding. PEPCO spokesman said situation is improving and textile sector will be exempted from load shedding in coming few days whereas load shedding hours will be reduced for domestic consumers.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said we are sincere about the promises made in charter of democracy and we will eliminate 17th amendment and 58-2B.
Addressing in National Assembly, Gilani said Peoples Party had never accepted emergency and always put resistance against it. Parliament should not be split over non issues as the decision of not presenting NRO in parliament has been taken in accordance with the desire of the parliament.
