HANGU: Militants blew up a high school and a clinic in Hangu on Friday. A 12-room state-run high school for boys and a clinic in Shahukhel village were turned to rubble by explosives planted by militants, chief of Hangu district administration. There were no casualties because the buildings were empty.

KARACHI: An earthquake jolted cities of the NWFP including Peshawar and Malakand division and the federal capital on Friday. The intensity of the earthquake was reported 5.0 on the Rector scale. There was no report of damage of property or life from anywhere so far.
Director General Metrological office Qamaruzzaman Chaudhry said the epicenter of the quake was at Pak-Afghan border.
On Thursday night, the earthquake jolted Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Attock, Sargodha, Peshawar, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Swat, Upper Dir, Lower Dir and some other cities of the provinces of Punjab and the NWFP, besides some parts of AJK and Gilgit and Baltistan.

PESHAWAR: The World Food Program has temporarily suspended the supply of provisions to Malakand affectees from Saturday, said Emergency Response Unit.
The supply has been temporarily suspended because the preparation of provision quota for the month of July is still underway.
The Emergency Response Unit said there are a total of 42 distribution points in Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi and Nowshehra besides some other cities of NWFP where supply of provision will be resumed from July 8.

KOHAT: Three persons including a policeman have been killed and ten injured in Kohat bomb attack on Saturday morning.
According to police sources, a remote-control bomb hit the police mobile escorting prisoners van at Bannu Road near Indus chowk. Two passerby was killed and eight police officials hurt in the blast that were shifted to distract headquarter hospital Kohat.

LAHORE: The entire country is mourning the martyrdom of renowned religious scholar Dr Sarfraz Naeemi and others on Saturday.
Protest rallies have been taken out in big and small cities countrywide. In Karachi, different political and religious organizations announced strike and mourning. Public transport remained thin and all business centers and shops are closed in the metropolis. The Karachi University and Urdu University postponed examinations, which were scheduled today whereas Intermediate Board has postponed practical.
Lahore is also mourning the killing of Dr. Sarfaraz Naeemi as provincial government has announced local holiday in the city. All major markets and business centers are closed. Protest demonstrations also held in other cities and towns.
