PESHAWAR: A powerful remote-controlled blast has occurred in Adezai, the suburb area of Peshawar city on Tuesday morning, Geo news reported police sources as saying.
According to media reports, the blast targeted the vehicle of the members of ‘Peace Committee’, meanwhile, causalities and injuries have been feared in explosion.
Police and security forces contingents have arrived on the blast site and cordoned off the entire area.

LAHORE: At least 100 employees of Punjab Intermediate and Secondary Education Boards (PISEBs) have been arrested over observing strike and staging protest against government for last 14 days, Geo news reported.
The employees who were on strike were forbidden to enter offices but they vowed to continue demonstration till meeting of their demands.
It may be mentioned that the protest and strike were prompted over non-payment of grants to education boards from Punjab government.
Earlier on Monday, the Punjab government ordered to take action against the employees of education board who were on strike for last 13 days.
Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif ordered to nab the union office bearers and register cases against them.
Sources told media that addresses were collected for arrest and show-cause notices from board offices were issued against them.
According to the notices, stern action was to be taken against those who fail to reply to them within seven days.
On the other hand, the union office bearers said that they would contact the court rather than replying to such notices.

MINGORA: The city of Mingora is mourned over the deadly suicide blast occurred near Nishat Chaowke on Monday, killing 12 persons including 2 security personnel, 4 women and 6 others.
Bazaars are presenting deserted looks as people are not visiting there in big numbers.
According to hospital sources, at least 37 persons sustained injuries while 12 embraced martyrdom.
A British Muslim lady namely Aamina Saeed also fell victim to suicide attack.
The funeral prayers of most of martyred persons were offered in their native places yesterday while some of the remaining persons’ prayer will be said today.
Security has been beefed up with strict checking at all the entrances and exists of the city, police sources said.

KARACHI: Seven more people were gunned down late on Monday night when some unidentified armed assailants opened indiscriminate fire in the Nazimabad and Khwaja Ajmer Nagri localities of metropolis city, mounting the death toll to 26.
According to reports, unknown armed men started firing near Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, killing four people, two of them on the spot. While two others succumbed to injuries in the hospital. Immediately after the incident, the hospitals’ doors were closed.
Later, another incident of indiscriminate fire occurred near Abbasi Phatak located underneath Nazimabad Bridge, killing 5 persons on the spot including a youth who resided in nearby flats, police sources said.
Two persons were gunned down in Orangi Town and Qasba Colony while the deceased persons were reportedly hailing from two different political parties and used to serve as their activists, sources claimed.
The incident seems to be the part of recent spate of target killing in city, according to police.

PESHAWAR: At least three people have been killed and 21 others injured in a powerful explosion that occurred in Peshawar’s outskirts of Badhbeer on Kohat Road near police station, Geo News reported on Monday morning.
The state of emergency has been declared in the local hospitals.
The police and relief workers before long arrived on the blast site and kick-started the relief action. According to police sources, the ambulances of Edhi have arrived on the blast site. The injured and bodies are being shifted to the hospital.
There are some children and a woman among the injured.
According to Geo News correspondent, the police have confirmed that blast was a suicide attack, as a car was used in the blast.
According to sources, the suicide bomber was taking his explosive-laden car to some sensitive place; however, he was signaled to pull over. But, the suicide bomber on being stopped, blew him up, killing three people.
According to Geo News correspondent, at least seven injured have been brought to Lady Reading Hospital.

PESHAWAR: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Peshawar Sahibzada Anis said at least three people were killed and 20 others inured in the blast, Geo News reported Monday.
Talking to Geo News, he said the suicide attacker was coming on the road from Khyber Agency, when he was signaled to halt; on this, he ran his explosive-car into the police station.
The most of the rescue work has been completed and still it is in progress, he said.

NOWSHERA: The leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Malik Yaqoob shot dead in Nowshera.

PESHAWAR: At least three people were killed in a blast at Patang Chawk area of Peshawar in the limits of Faqirabad police station, Geo News reported Monday.
According to reports, at least three people were killed in the blast at a police picket.
According to police sources, the teams of police and relief workers have been dispatched towards blast site. Meantime, the injured including a rickshaw driver have been rushed to hospital.
According to eyewitnesses and police sources, the explosives were placed in a vehicle, which went off, setting the rickshaw on fire.
