Brandon Jennings

Brandon JenningsMILWAUKEE — So it’s not a coincidence. Brandon Jennings This kid can play. We’ll be ready to go overboard here. You could not have been at the Bradley Center on Saturday and did not feel he was seeing something completely different.

Jennings is not just work on becoming a very good player, a rookie in a strong rookie class very solid. It is rising above all that. It’s becoming a star. Rookie of the Year? Bah. We may soon be thinking of him as a possible All-Star.

If your numbers through the first six games of the season was not enough evidence – he averaged 20.7 points, 5.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds – which the Warriors did Saturday night should be enough to consolidate the status of the child. He shook off a 4-for-13 first half (10 points) to light up Golden State by 29 points in the third quarter, the most points a player has scored against the Warriors in a quarter.

He finished with 55 points, with 12-to-13 for the third quarter to vault the Bucks to come from behind win. The 55 are a franchise rookie, surpassing the old mark of 51 held by Lew Alcindor. They are also the most points scored by an NBA rookie since Earl Monroe in 1968.

“I was standing in offensive rebounding position perfect all the time,” said the center Andrew Bogut. “But he kept working on the network.”

Jennings, of course, shocked children through basketball without passing through on a commitment to Arizona and instead of playing professional baseball in Italy last year, then join the project in 2009. He put the numbers of pedestrians in Italy, struggling to earn playing time between the benefits of euro, and in doing so managed to slip to No. 10 in the project. I was not even sure I was going to go that high – remember, refused to go to the green room at Madison Square Garden on draft night because I was not sure where he had land and did not want to wind up in a chamber as teams passed over him.

Australia wary of India: Ricky Ponting

Ricky PontingMUMBAI: Australia hope to continue their winning streak when they clash with India in a seven games of a series of days beginning on Sunday, the captain Ricky Ponting said.

The world champions England beat 6-1 in September before winning the eight-nation Champions Trophy in South Africa earlier this month to regain the number one ranking in a cricket day.

“We’ve been playing a very good day for cricket in recent months from the tour of England, and we want to continue with that,” Ponting told a pre-lecture series on the media Wednesday.

“We could have done better than we did in the past few day games. But we have a fresh set of challenges here.”

Spain, ranked second behind Australia, was eliminated in the first round of the Champions Trophy, but will be boosted by the return of strong hitters Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh’s injuries.

“India has a very good and strong one-day team and we are not underestimating them,” said Ponting.

“We’re number one and number two teams in the world and this points to a fun and good competition in the coming weeks. We just have to continue to improve and be at our best right through the series.”

Ponting admitted he has to bear an additional responsibility in the absence of his deputy Michael Clarke, due to a back injury. Also missing wicket-keeper Brad Haddin, batter seamer Callum Fergusson and Nathan Bracken.

“The challenge will be how our means to address the batter with bowling spin over the coming weeks,” said Australian captain said.

“(Michael) Hussey has played a lot of cricket here. Shane Watson and Tim Paine play spin well. I’m sure the team do a good job.”

Ponting is the third largest race in capturing a cricket day with 12,044 runs, behind India’s Sachin Tendulkar (16,903) and Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya (13,377).

Ponting finished with the highest total of 228 runs in five matches in the Champions Trophy and was named player of the tournament.

“I played some of my best days of cricket in recent months,” said “a great responsibility on my shoulders is like hitting number three on the team.”

Skyline Vs Oaks Christian

Skyline Vs Oaks Christian,It might seem crazy to some, but ESPN will broadcast 21 high school football games live on their family of networks this fall.

Skyline Vs Oaks ChristianThis will come as no surprise to hardcore college football fans, however, as nowadays almost as much attention is paid to future college stars as current ones. That is exactly what makes the match-up of Skyline (Sammamish, WA) vs. Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, CA) so intriguing to local football fans. Skyline features star quarterback Jake Heaps, who is considered one of the top prep players in the country and will play for BYU next season, while Oaks Christian is quarterbacked by Nick Montana, a highly touted high school player himself who also happens to be the son of NFL legend Joe Montana. Montana has committed to play for the University of Washington next season.

While the focus may be on the two quarterbacks, there are several other top college prospects on both teams, which are ranked nationally in preseason high school polls. Oaks Christian is rated as high as number six in the country, while Skyline checks in as high as number nine. Oaks Christian is considered by many as the best high schoolteam in the West and features five seniors who will play D-1 football next year in addition to Montana, including running back Malcolm Jones, who hasn’t made his college choice and offensive lineman Erik Kohler, who will join Montana at UW. Skyline’s roster also includes junior receiver Kasen Williams, the son of former Washington Husky receiver Aaron Williams, who figures to be one of the most sought after prospects in the state next season.

Australia Rise Ashes Defeat With Opening ODI Win

Australia Rise Ashes Defeat With Opening ODI WinLONDON: Australia captain Michael Clarke praised two of the newcomers to the tour of England as his side put their Ashes defeat behind them with a tense four-run win in the first one-day international.

Callum Ferguson won the man-of-the-match award for an unbeaten 71 here at the Oval on Friday and Cameron White weighed in with 53 as Australia, returning to the scene of their 197-run fifth-Test Ashes losing defeat, went 1-0 up in this seven-match series.

Ferguson’s innings was the centrepiece of Australia’s 260 for five, a total that just proved too much for England to overhaul as they finished on 256 for eight.

The 24-year-old South Australian’s score was his best in 15 matches at this level and took just 75 balls.

“We’ve got a lot of new players in our squad that didn’t take part in the Ashes,” Clarke, deputising for the resting Ricky Ponting, told reporters.

“One-day cricket is a lot different to Test cricket, I’m taking a lot of positives out of tonight.

“Callum Ferguson played beautifully,” Clarke added ahead of Sunday’s second match at Lord’s.

“But for Cameron Wright get an opportunity at No 3 and play the way he did was fantastic. It shows he’s a good all-round player and can bat in any position.”

Clarke, whose 45 was subdued by his normally fluent standards, admitted: “I thought we were maybe 15, 20 runs short but that was mainly down to my batting. I took too many balls to score the runs I did.

“But the way we bowled and fielded was very good. We were very disciplined,” he said after seeing left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Johnson take three wickets for 24 runs.

England fell just short with Ryan Sidebottom unable to score the six required off the last ball from fellow left-arm quick Nathan Bracken.

However, things ought not to have been so tight.

Ravi Bopara, who was dropped for the Ashes finale after averaging just 15 in the first four Tests, made 49 but took 88 balls and hit only three fours before he was stumped after off-spinner Nathan Hauritz beat his forward defensive stroke.

The experienced Paul Collingwood also couldn’t seize the initiative, his 23 taking 39 balls and featuring a solitary boundary.

Owais Shah (40 off 48 balls) and Luke Wright (38 off 27) upped the tempo but by then England were behind the required run-rate.

“When you’re chasing 260-odd you need one of your batters to get a big score,” said England captain Andrew Strauss, himself out for 12.

“There were plenty of contributions but no one made a sizeable enough one to turn the game in our favour.”

One consolation for England was the form of 21-year-old Adil Rashid.

In only his second match at this level, and first against Test opposition, the leg-spinner bowled 10 economical overs for 37 runs – and on another day might have had Ferguson lbw for nought – and then made a brisk 31 not out off 23 balls with four fours.

“We’ve always known Adil was a very talented individual with ball and bat,” said Strauss. “Today, in a big game for him, I thought he was exceptional with the way he bowled.

“That’s encouraging. He’s got the capability to be a genuine all-rounder.”
